Portland is what happens when you let H1-B run rampant.
Sure the faggagays and feminazis and just plain ol' commies have their own play in this.
But the H1-Bs drive the train here. The H1-Bs ensure every liberal rule down to the last line is followed exactly and they have the incentive to do what they're told and rat anybody out who isn't.
Portland is more red than you'd think. But they're held hostage against taking a stand against the crazies by the H1-Bs who are about the nastiest people I've ever met.
They're entitled to an extreme. And about the most stuck up insular crowd I've run Into.
The kind of people to lecture you with great bore for 30 minutes about not using the correct font on your cover page and they understand you didn't get the memo and it was in fact their responsibility to send you the memo they didn't send detailing the small change but because they didn't send it to you now you have submitted a report with a slightly incorrect font and that is unprofessional.
Or to harass your neighbor for playing piano (quietly enough I didn't know they had one and I also live next door) in the afternoon because they purchased the other house next door and they'd like to sleep during the day with their windows open because it's nice outside and they have a right to peace and quiet and their daughter is taking AP exams.
Or bully the lawn latinos over them mowing their grass the wrong direction yelling at them random instructions while standing watch in the street over his team of slaves and talking on the phone to a woman he is repeatedly telling "You will know you're place. I am the man and you are listening to my wisdom I am giving you very kindly. Now tell me did you drop off ... etc"
These are not hypothetical examples.
As a tech nerd, I've lost my job several times to these H1-Bs. My favorite story is the most recent one. This place laid off the entire tech department in order to replace us all with cheaper H1-Bs. Once the foreign workers took over everything fell apart. They managed to crash the financial software and they lost 9 years worth of required (by the govt) financial data. It took them over a month to even get the financial software working again. A MONTH. Accounting was doing everything by hand...in pen. The workers also couldn't write SQL reports and they were rude to the workers that called in for help - especially the women. All in all the higher ups (including the CEO/CFO) ended up losing their jobs over it.
its intentional I believe...never been in said tech industry myself, from other business venture tho we call this "plausible deniably" ohhh nooo's all the data is gone ...well guess were in the clear wink wink...
Yeah the line in the parent comment
Stood out as very inaccurate lol.
Haha agreed! You get what you pay for.
Can you tell us what H1-B stands for?
Overview The H-1B program applies to employers seeking to hire nonimmigrant aliens as workers in specialty occupations or as fashion models of distinguished merit and ability. A specialty occupation is one that requires the application of a body of highly specialized knowledge and the attainment of at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. The intent of the H-1B provisions is to help employers who cannot otherwise obtain needed business skills and abilities from the U.S. workforce by authorizing the temporary employment of qualified individuals who are not otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
The law establishes certain standards in order to protect similarly employed U.S. workers from being adversely affected by the employment of the nonimmigrant workers, as well as to protect the H-1B nonimmigrant workers. Employers must attest to the Department of Labor that they will pay wages to the H-1B nonimmigrant workers that are at least equal to the actual wage paid by the employer to other workers with similar experience and qualifications for the job in question, or the prevailing wage for the occupation in the area of intended employment – whichever is greater.
