I've been harassed by Washington County Sheriff's here for having ... get this A LICENSE PLATE LIGHT OUT in the middle of the day. This motherfucker was parked IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD presumably on another call and flashed his lights at me as I was turning into my driveway.
He didn't write me a ticket admittedly. But he did give me a speech about how HE COULD but won't because it's the middle of the day and he's a "reasonable person".
The Sheriff's here are BORED OUT OF THEIR GODDAMN MINDS and are told by the department to do nothing about the homeless people that have invaded our suburb. So instead they spend their time pulling people over for basically no reason to find anything they can. It's happened to sooooo many of my neighbors in the last two years. Next door neighbor got a ticket on their car door for having 5% too much window tint (just moved here from another state where it's allowed). $200 or show up to court and BEG.
Admittedly very very few of them have gotten a ticket. But fuck the Sheriff's are annoying and useless here.
They exist to harass the public. The very few times I've called 911 at my business they'll send someone in maybe half an hour?
Maybe the Sheriff's are okay elsewhere but here in Portland, they're more interested in harassing people for not wearing a mask than they're interested in the constitution.
I've met one or two good guys in the department here. But they're one or two on a SEA of tyrannical fucko hotheads.
Next Monday and Wednesday are the days officially scheduled for SCOTUS opinion releases. But, 1 they can release an opinion at any time or add or change days to the schedule, 2 it is not pre-announced which cases they'll be releasing decisions for on which days.

Does anyone have any good answers for why this number hasn't changed that much in the last 6 to 12 months?
Maybe I'm just totally wrong but it seems like 6 months ago or maybe a year ago I remember the death count was about 25,000. Wouldn't it likely be higher by now? Maybe this is because it's easier to track the desk if they occur almost immediately after vaccination or because they're joking the numbers which we obviously already know they're doing ...
It just seems I've seen this same number approximately stay at ~28,000 for longer than it took for the number to go from 0 to ~28,000 in the first place.

I agree I think that there's a bit of a ban culture but I think for me it was mostly bad luck.
Knowing that ahead of time wouldn't have helped me ... kinda sucks I was basically blocked for calling out a spammer in his comments section and it's not like I can appeal a block 💁

It's not a bad platform, in fact I was really enjoying it and it's maybe just my bad luck ... but for me going to a platform specifically to follow someone's updates and then getting unilaterally blocked from even SEEING their posts pretty much right after I sign up really just just kills my personal motivation to participate.
It doesn't really change my opinion of Truth Social or Gregg Phillips that this happened. It just sucks.

I have the opposite rules. I'm like Robin Williams in spirit. I like people with your rules :-) I just have different ones that work for me. I almost NEVER say my jokes are jokes for example, because sometimes when I don't say it's joke and people it take it seriously it accidentally leads to good conversation.
It's not that I WANT to piss them off ... but if I'm myself and they get pissed off because I made a social faux pas or something ... coming to a place where we understand each other ANYWAY is going to be a more powerful connection than if I was just trying to be as cordial as possible.
But that's for me. I know alot of people that behaving the way I do would NOT be "being themselves" and so that wouldn't work at all for them.
