Yes, so if I were in the US, I am compelled to obey US laws, in the UK, UK laws etc.

I'm actually not that enamoured of this particular rule because it sounds like you would have to obey an immoral law for example. However, my first duty is to God, not my country, so if there is a conflict, God's laws win.
