I visited the Philippines in 2004 and remember being concerned that they had armed guards at every large public gathering place like the mall, with shotguns or rifles. The schools also all had 10 foot masonry walls with metal gates and armed guards. I thought these things were a sign that their country was dangerous, which of course it is, and so is America. They are all dangerous because they all have people in them and people have unlimited potential for evil.
We need to get over the stigma that America isn't a dangerous place and forget the fantasy that there wasn't evil in the "good old days", and we want it like that again. I'm unsure if arming teachers is the right thing, but I'm positive that trained armed guards with long rifles should be at our schools. We need to become comfortable seeing men with guns at the doors of every establishment ready to protect us.
armed guards who are paid/licensed etc is stepping more towards increased federal authority, that's the wrong direction IMO. We the people need to take responsibility for our safety and that of those around us. just end the unarmed sheep zones and get rid of the antigunners in the blue areas. good guys with guns everywhere, carrying because it's the right thing to do.
One of my favorite scenes from a movie was about Bonnie and Clyde. It’s in the end when they come rolling into a small town. Once gun fire is heard all the citizens come out of their stores armed and see what’s going on and begin to gun those degenerates down. I said to myself wen I was younger that’s where I want to live.
I've been in both Mexico and Dominican Republic, where guards with long guns are seen.
That is NOT a good look. It does NOT make for a comfortable environment. We should NOT "become more comfortable" with that look.
Concealed weapons should be fine. Many states now have constitutional carry and you would never know who does or does not have a concealed gun -- and that is the point.
I understand what you are saying, but it very much confirms the point I'm making. Optics can not supersede the safety of our children. If your primary argument against visibly armed guards is it looks bad... I'm inclined to say, "get over it" as a counter argument.
You've been to places with armed guards, but have you lived there? How fast do you think you get used to seeing it, and it becomes background noise?
I agree. Trained armed guards, whose only job is to kill an attacker. Let resource officers deal with the fights and bullying and bullshit. One man, one rifle, level 4 armor, and training. We can get this security in our schools for cheap money, most of them less than 100k a year. But hell no, we just keep sending 50 billion at a time to Ukraine… 🤦♂️

Agreed.

Thank you. Hannity was literally calling for armed police at every floor of every building, mall and school in America, and that terrifies me
oh man hannity, fuck that controlled opposition faggot. I used to listen to him too. and don't be scared anon, just build an ammo fort.
I didn't say Federally paid for or mandated guards. These should be local school boards hiring private security.
