I always thought this as well. Watching a homoerotic display for several hours on a much deserved day off never was appealing to me.
Now watching a jello wrestling match with babes in swimwear would be more for me then watching guys fight over a ball ;)
A pede after my own heart
Years ago, when my kids were in elementary school, the first week of each new year, the parents were invited to a 'meet the teacher' night. We met our daughter's new 3rd grade teacher who was this old, rough-looking woman who had a couple of side teeth missing. She looked like she should be working on a dude ranch as a wrangler or something. This was a very nice, new school and we wondered why she was selected when this school was likely able to get anyone they wanted.
During her intro where she talked about herself, she mentioned how she really enjoyed kicking back and watching the local WNBA team on TV. And then she said, "But then, who doesn't?"
I had to suppress a snicker as I don't know anyone who enjoys WNBA. Not men, not women. That is...except for a small group of women.
Diversity in hiring is king. Gotta meet your quota, quality be damned.
