Kudos on the vocal lessons. I make music (I "rap", but that genre has became so filtered and dumbed down...I don't even like lumping myself in what that word has became) and always wanted to train my voice but never actually took the time to do it. Self-discipline can be life changing if you actually utilize it.
It sure can, and makes it fun to bust jump behind the mic at a party or a bar and just have fun. It's a built in instrument you carry with you and can play at any time. I respect the art of rapping. Timing, flow, word play, and getting across a message with words in a way that is like a verbal painting.
I like Dax a lot, not so much when he does the auto tune parts in some songs, but the man is a lyricist. If you don't listen to him, he showcases his ability to change up tempos and styles in his song "Rap God" where you'll pick up on a new clever line every time you listen to it, but he has a lot of great other songs, too.
Fun fact Dax is my newest favorite. (Before him my goto was Jelly Roll) I was in the hospital because of pancreatitis the week before Easter and heard Dear Alcohol. Listened to that song so many times since then...
I actually was released the day before and showed my Aunt the Dear God music video on Easter.
