Right of the bat I recognize a deepfake's tendency to make certain areas more diffuse...
You mainly see it in the lower quality ones but if this was a real-time equivalent of a deepfake the amount of processing power required could explain it.
This either means that the DS are so stretched for resources that the MUCH better technology that used to be available to them simply isn't anymore and they have to resort to what basically ammounts to a hopped-up real-time deepfake where in the past they had next-level AI systems capable of much better results...
Or that this is a part of the show and done deliberately and just poorly enough to cause just the kind of reaction that motivated this post...
