Now I see the problem. You have to read a whole sentence, not a piece of one, to understand what it says/means.
The significance of "kenyan" in the sentence is that without an obama presidency kenyans would be all but totally irrelevant to me--as proved by the fact that the only kenyans quoted on all of GAW are obamas.
You and I just have different thought processes.
I tend to individualize my thoughts when it comes to people. I organize people by their names.
I don't assoicate what one similar person does with what another similar person does.
