Most states have state guards that are not NG affiliated. At least in the south. What's bad ass is that he's actively recruiting folks. I'm curious as to whether or not they train with weapons .
If they don't, then it's toothless. However, if a program is introduced that trains them in use, safety, maintenance and protocols this could actually be something that has some serious value in putting Florida into a power position in future disputes.
If large amounts of people are taught to be riflemen and taught how to "shoot move communicate"... that would make that place the world's most deadly place. For shitbirds.
I'm a less-than-POG, since I don't have veteran status. But I have watched enough Clint Smith to know: if you are not moving and reloading as you are shooting, you are dead. And Mike Glover and every other "Operator" (ugh) who gets on the blower says the same thing. Move in a cooperative way. Establish overlapping fields of fire. Call for cover when you need it, and provide it when it's requested. Keep moving, as static targets get the mortar. Know your plan A, plan B, and plan C, and know your objectives before the shooting starts. Know where the rally point is if it all goes to shit. Know what the radio channels and codes are. Stay off the radio unless you need to be on it. Jack yourself up with meth and modafinil. Ok that last one might be optional. :)
EDIT: To add: Your comment on "POG" had me thinking that there's more there to say. Again, I have never been to war. But I've done some seriously sketchy stuff and I've learned that if you hang your balls out too far, they are gonna get clipped. And we have many quotes from folks like Napoleon, etc. about how an army moves on its stomach, etc. All of which is to say that the non-fighting logistics are, as you rightly point out, super important. You can survive this fire fight, but can you survive this Winter, with me cutting off your supply of Taco Bell? Lots to think about.

Amen. I don't think enough Patriot/civilian emphasis is put on the pog aspects like comms and logistics.

The bad thing is this is what passes as your "right" to form a militia.
