Think The Swamp Has Won? Not So Fast … The Founders Slipped A Fail Safe Into The Constitution: The Convention of States
Believe it or not, our Founding Fathers, during the time of Louis XVI’s Versailles and having just lived under the domination of King George III and an English Parliament in London almost 6000 miles away, anticipated there may come a time when the political elite, all living together in a far off capital city, might become detached from those they are supposed to serve and may need to be reigned in. For just this eventuality, the Founders slipped a mechanism into the Constitution, which allows The States (specifically the State Legislatures) to overrule the power-drunk tyrants living as permanent residents in the capital and return the power of our Constitutional Republic back to The States and We the People.
This fail safe is called The Convention of the States (COS). Mark Levin has discussed the need for The Convention of the States in an excellent description of the process.
15 states have already passed COS resolutions, 8 more States have passed a COS resolution through 1 state legislative chamber, another 12 states have active legislation pending this year. So a total of 35 states are already inclined to support the COS, and that doesn’t even include states like Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania with Republican state legislatures that could easily be persuaded to join in given all the election and other chaos seen in 2020. Surely additional state legislatures could be persuaded to join either through political pressure or future elections. If the amendments passed were the type with broad 70 to 80% public support, there is a real chance some or all of the amendments could see ratification.

This can all be done outside of the sphere of Washington D.C. The States do not need a single vote in Congress, the President cannot veto it, and the Supreme Court cannot rule ratification of a constitutional amendment to be unconstitutional. Not even the Associated Press gets a say.
One of the threads of SLAG's wartime president series (sorry, don't know which linked substance contributor) supposed that this already happened. There was a time when Trump was reported as "summoning" state legislators in 2020; the thread was that there was a minimum quorum from the threshold minimum number of states, extending his presidency. It sounded plausible, but also totally unprovable until revealed publicly.

The whole trick is about gaining enough support to trigger the COS, before people realize that they are actually getting a Con-Con. It's the 'reset' option of the whole of the Constitution, its weakest spot, compromise of 1787 Philadelphia Convention. Once triggered it cannot be stopped, everything will be on the table, contrary to what the COS promoters claim. Madison, Hamilton, Washington warned the enemies of the republic will use Art. 5 Convention option.
COS has already been caught attempting changes to the 2nd Amendment [link].
I've followed this from the 1990s and sat down with one of the promoters of this; We The People Foundation and I completely reject this contemptuous trap.
There is nothing wrong with our existing Constitution. The problem is widespread sedition and it is not be followed by an increasingly hostile attorney-politicians. Please understand in American law schools Constitutional law is not the central theme being taught. It has been pushed into a corner to which it is taught in mere mentioning. If you want to know the "WHY" we are where we are at, look no further than what is being taught as the main subject in law schools. It is called -- 'Law Positive' or sometimes referred to as 'Positive Law'. It is being used to completely bury the US Constitution and is essentially 'Admiralty' law or sometimes referred to as 'Law Merchant'. Look up on a search engine -- 'Positive Law versus Common Law' to read for yourself what this is.
All of the above essentially means that almost every lawyer is indoctrinated and brainwashed in believing Law Positive is the law of of the land. It is taught the Constitution is a 'progressive' document that's intended to reflect the latest public policy. It's a Stalin-istic LIE that almost every lawyer-politician believes despite what the majority of American wants.
The peril to a Constitutional Convention of States are the very lawyers that will end up heading it. Assuredly, they will end the Bill of Rights being recognized from the Creator to that of being from the government. The idea is a perilous and will end in disaster. The enemy is salivating and waiting to seize this opportunity to which we will not be able to stop.
