Ok so your defense of circumcision is that it wasn't God's idea, he was just being practical and using something already in the culture. But if they were already doing it for some other reason, then how would it be reminder of a covenant? It would just be a thing they were already doing. Also, how is it highly visible unless people are walking around naked?
Personally I find it to be a disgusting practice regardless of who is doing it for how long or why. The Earth gave us wondrous bodies that can bring us much joy. We should cherish and respect our bodies.
Laughing at genital mutilation? You're a snake that uses religion to deceive people.
You're deceiving people by telling them to mutilate their children's genitals, saying that it will remind me them of a contract they have with Yahweh, who you call "God". This is deception because the creator of the universe does not want you to mutilate your genitals.
It's also a deception because you cannot be honestly reminded of something you never did, in this case, agreeing to mutilate your genitals in exchange for anything.
And since you seem so learned on this subject, why don't inform us as to the nature of this Covenant? What do the people who circumcise get in return for upholding their end of the agreement? Magical powers? The ability to brainwash others and take their children?
