TODAY is 100 days sober for me. Alcohol slowly took over and was destroying my life. A while back I got this DM (pic) from one of our autist frens here who's in the same battle. Is "The Awakening" in the room with you right now? Join us! WE ARE THE AWAKENING. Every change matters. Let's GOOOOO!

Why are you in a thread about sobriety when you could dropping out like a druggie loser?
Why are you using terms like "druggie loser" in a thread about sobriety when people are sharing their experiences?
If you must know, I had a stretch of time where the briefcase in "fear and loathing in Las vegas" would look like a happy meal next to an all you can eat buffet.
I checked in because I'm proud of u/catsfive especially so because I remember his/her post months ago about leaving the bottle.
I leave and come back and go through major swings while juggling a professional life and I like to check in on people.
In any case, taking lsd or shrooms is not like taking cocaine, which is even much different than smoking Crack even though they are made from the same essence, and none of those are like doing heroine, or MDMA.
Each substance works differently, lasts different amounts, has a VERY different effect, and the addictions range from literal physical addictions to purely mental addictions in the form of habit, or seeking feeling when sobriety feels dull, or because you're in a shitty state (spiritually, mentally, physically, etc) and are addicted to the escape more than you are the substance itself.
I'm here to read others' experiences and smile at the comments, because I, myself, have been affected, have experienced every form of it I could think of, have lost more friends than I can count to drug related homicides, overdoses/suicides (in some cases, both)
This thread is very relevant to me and my life. It's not a thread about having been sober all your life, it's a thread about achieving sobriety after a struggle, so I'm here whether you approve or not.
That being said, if we met in any other thread we'd probably get along, and we're on the same side, so keep doing you. We all come from different places and have our own demons that we have to deal with.
God bless you, fren.
