If you're sitting in your living room peaceably reading a book, the TV on in the background, and you hear something analogous to the "Jaws" soundtrack, your blood pressure is likely to rise and you'll feel a sense of dread. Why? Nothing has changed except you've been conditioned to feel dread at that music. Now turn on The Weather Channel when a place like Florida is expecting a tropical storm system to blow through and you'll hear exactly that - dramatic, foreboding music. We used to call it rain and our weather reports were not set to music.
