For "graphic design being their passion"... it literally looks like they went back in time 20 years and hired a teen to do their logo in paint.
There is nothing atheistically pleasing about their logo at all. The colors don't coordinate well. The balance is off, the lines aren't crisp, the content itself already looks dated. Legit a complete fucking hack job. I wonder how much it cost to make.

You do realize that this design is meant to be sewn onto a patch that is to be worn on a uniform. They aren’t trying to compete for retail space on store shelves if this is your concern. Most insignias are “simplistic” in the way they are designed for a reason. It’s meant to understood at a distance but still “readable.” It’s actually harder to pull off this “20yro MS Paint” look than one would assume.
