Which they did.
Those people are sovereign on their own land. Whatever rights they have given away were through treaties with the Feds.
Tangentially, I think the reason for making sure States can prosecute non-natives for crimes committed on native land is to make sure people who prey on natives can be prosecuted, since the natives are unable to adequately defend themselves.
So, I think this case is more significant than we thought.

This is gonna disappoint some of the casinos on Native land, like Hard Rock in Tampa. Those guys are notorious.

What they should be ruling is that native land is bullshit and still has to abide by the laws of the land.
We conquered those guys fair and square. Why are we giving them a silly consolation prize?
