Military is the only way... u think each state will follow and thats how we take our country back? 2nd amendment is in place for times like these and the people need to take it back finally. Getting goosebumps!
well-regulated means only that the equipment is in good shape. it does not mean that there is any government involvement from the three branches of government. all that militia means is able bodied men.
Should've already been like this. None of the State militias should ever have been rolled into the U.S. Army and Air Force and called the Nat'l Guard. That was a strong arm tactic of the Federal Govt post WWII. And it should've been deemed unconstitutional. Each State effectively has a "foreign" beligerent force occupying it, as a result.
Real state organization and 'protection' from the three letter gestapo would be nice But, THE United States Militia IS 120 million strong and in every state, so Any Gov. that Needs to CAN Activate the Militia.
There seem to be several dissenters in here. I'm not a military pro, so I had to search to see if I was wrong about describing them as a militia.
Oxford Dictionary, Militia as a noun: "a military force that is raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency."
Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Militia: "1a : a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency The militia was called to quell the riot. b : a body of citizens organized for military service. 2 : the whole body of able-bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service."
YourDictionary.com, Militia: "The definition of a militia is an army made up of regular citizens called to respond during an emergency. An example of a militia is the Minutemen who volunteer to protect the U.S border."
To the point that the FSG is just like the National Guard, but for Florida, so not a militia. WikiPedia.com describes the National Guard as members of an organized militia of the US. As follows: "The definition of a militia is an army made up of regular citizens called to respond during an emergency. An example of a militia is the Minutemen who volunteer to protect the U.S border."
So, help me understand why calling it a militia isn't appropriate?
words change meaning over time. you need to go back to the meaning of the word militia at the time in which the constitution was written.... all the definitions you have given of militia is modern day definitions. the left plays the game of changing the meaning of words, so it is best to not play their game especially when dealing with the questions of constitution.
If every governor was like Ron DeSantis progress would speed up considerably. Of course he is not perfect but he is strong in his ethics. An ALPHA. I hope he shuts down the sanctuary status of any Florida town that was retarded enough to want to be one.
My favorite governor at it again. He's like a machine. We're getting an army, and from all I've seen of DeSantis, it won't be one that goes through any kind of sissy training. It will be a militia that knows how to do its job.
This isn't what you think, this is just a civilian group of people to help out during hard times, they will direct traffic hand out MRE's and water, assist in health departments, etc. many states already have them, oh, they do wear military garb.
Each state should do this. A well-regulated militia is just another a key component of the 2A.

inb4 Redditors: "wow how is this not proof of insurrection? how is desantis not being tortured to death in gitmo right now?"
pretending that state guards never existed
Awesome. Hope the idea spreads. Maybe AZ next, because KL intends to put armed personnel on the border
Doesnt Az have ms13?
The left makes a huge deal out of this but even California has a state guard, most states do

After watching that, I want to get the hell out of California and move to Florida.

It’s really national guard structured force for only the state. Militia is a much more broad and vaguely defined structure.
agreed...
