At this point, those policies would be a waste...values have skyrocketed in 1 year beyond what insurance will pay, deductibles make the "on purpose" bad unless there's LOW prices/oversupply.
Don't listen to those who say "are farmers doing it for the insurance?" The answer to that in NO. Shortages, high prices....thats NOT when the profit motive is making farmers kill their livestock.
Something way worse is going on. Food shortages are being CREATED.
The US would need HUNDREDS of events like procuctuion/warehouse fires, etc...we have lots of food. Somolia, on the other hand, where farting on a bag of chips causes starvation....all that needs to be done to starve them is to create shortages in the West, so we aren't helping them anymore.
Sounds like desperate farmers trying to cash out their animal insurance policies.
