Makes a ton of sense. HFCS is REALLY bad stuff. Government subsidized, of course ...
The video I linked explores this issue. There is a "cholesterol board" that determines at what levels statins should be prescribed. That number has been going lower and lower over the years, thereby increasing the number of people taking statins.
Turns out, the individuals on that board have financial conflicts of interest. They make more money when these drugs are prescribed. They get paid directly from the drug companies, and that does not even count the possibility that they might also buy up some key stocks just before their next "guideline" announcement.
Editors of Lancet and JAMA have both said that over 50% of research published in their journals are not valid science.
Although this is an extreme example, it is interesting at the rapid rate of declining health. This guy tried to do an experiment where he would only eat broccoli for one week. The results were both comical and frightening. It's not so shocking at the declining health, but the RATE of declining health is mindboggling:

The Lancet and JAMA claiming only 50% - they are being far too generous.
KEK
Nothing like a little help from your friends. LOL! Thanks.
I think a couple of things were going on here. All that fiber threw his digestive tract into shock and quickly altered his gut flora - a hot toxic mess. In addition, huge amounts of cruciferous vegetables can block thyroid function - that could explain some of the fatigue both physical and mental. No protein intake for an otherwise healthy young guy - not good. Yes, the decline was pretty rapid. If he had not decided to do the exercising, things may have been different. Was there any way of knowing whether the activity level was normal for him or just done for the challenge? That would have drastically altered the outcome if it was not part of his normal daily routine. Interesting. Supersize Me only in reverse - and much faster.
