So I've been trying to find this movie I recollect from my younger years. It's likely mid > late 70s, early 80s. It may have been a post-apocalyptic setting, or marshal law, but it was a group/faction ruling the area that got around on roller-skates and decked out in silver suits, like maybe a one piece silver coverall.
Can't recall any actors, or much beyond people in silver costumes skating around patrolling. Ring a bell for anyone?
Edit: So I don't think it was post-apocalyptic nor wasteland but might have been a futuristic flick with the enforcers wearing silver coverall costumes and roller skating. Maybe helmets & masks too, or something on the head/face.
Edit 2: It may be Rollerball from 1975, trying to find somewhere to watch free online to see, but it is "in the future".
Possibly Logan’s run? Otherwise I remember Xanadu having roller skates but I don’t remember wastelands or anything in that…
Edit: maybe Running Man? Those were Ice skates though.
Logan's Run was looking like a possibility while watching but nope, not it.
Shoot, all I remember is a sequence if the silver garbed skaters searching houses for someone but the architecture seemed like it was a decades old rendition of the future. Honestly it may not even have been a movie, could have been show.
Thanks though.
np, I love my 70-80s post-apocalyptic movies and TV shows, hope you find it! It kinda sounds like Xanadu where the muse tells the main character to open a night club, tbh. That movie is worth a watch anyways, really. So is Logan's run and The Running Man (even though Arnold is now someone I dislike) due to their social commentary. Running Man always astounds me at how they editied videos and the news controls everything-it's almost as if Stephen King knew (well of course he did, he's cabal...)
Yeah, same here on the 70s-80s movies except any genre. I was born in 72 and only went to theaters a few times but between Sunday Afternoon Double Matinee on Fox I think it was and cable I've seen a slew of 70s/80s films and some shows.
Love finding new ones to watch, dig the special effects, beets CGI in my book any day. But plus, mostly the actors have passed so I can watch w/o thinking how woke that SOB is and sour the movie!
Running Man was AWESOME, one of my favs back in the day, but yeah, Ahnold can lick a Pepes ass. Hard for me to watch any newer movies because of this, not just Arnold, but others as well.
I also found there was a Logan's Run series for one season, 76-77 I think. I'd found online to watch the movie then the series started playing after. Here it is if you want to check it out

Or look through this - would be in the action / sci-fi section :

Ha, so yeah, nope, definitely not it. But definitely as good an example of 80s B flick as any!
I think the movie I'm thinking of was maybe more futuristic, not so much wasteland.
I may have seen Roller Blade though but not on broadcast TV with all the boobs and some full frontal. My sisters worked at the local cable company in the 80s and we had all the channels. If I recall my early pubescent years correctly, I'm sure it's something I would have watched! lol
I don't recall ever seeing it myself, just looked online for skating movies and it sounded like the dystopian scenario you originally described. I see now you've clarified it as futuristic vs apocalyptic. Good luck... I won't be surprised if someone here remembers it.
Funny how the memory works, in any case - an obscure snippet that "sticks in the mind" even years later.
I've came across that during my periodic searching for it but could never find an image that resembled the scene in my mind.
I found the full movie on YT, low res but watchable and am watching it now in between cutting the grass. So far nothing like what I recollect but so far definitely looks like it could be it. Although there is a topless girl fight sequence, if I'd seen it ,it would have been on broadcast TV. Parts of it do seem vague though. I'll follow up when I'm at the end.
