First of all there's no such thing. Unicorns, fairies, leprechauns, Easter Bunny, good clean federal police agency. They go together.
But it doesn't matter.
Try finding "federal police agency" in the Constitution.
There is a reason the Founders in their near-infinite wisdom did not include any such notion in the document.
Who enforces things if say a state does unconstitutional things, the SC says um quit doing that, and they keep right on doing that?
the people
States can be sued in court. Happens every day.
And my question is, after that happened, the SC ruled, and the state keeps doing what the SC said quit doing? Was this not clear? Who enforces things at this point? It can't be the military, so....
Hoover was hyper adamant that the FBI was never supposed to be a police agency.
"Just the minute the FBI begins making recommendations on what should be done with its information, it becomes a Gestapo."
