I don't have a problem with this either way to be honest. It IS another person in the car, even if they're not in a separate seat.

Also, the less pregnant women we have stuck in general traffic, the safer we'll all be!

I think everyone knows the purpose of these lanes. If she was trying to game it and got the ticket, well, she took the risk. Pay up. That ticket has nothing to do with the status of her baby in utero.

Edit: of course the baby is a person... at conception.

Officer pulls her over for driving in the HOV lane with only her in the car, she says ...

"My baby girl is right here. She is a person," Bottone said, pointing to her 34-week pregnant belly.

Bottone recalled telling the officer that she had a living child while referring to the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, which reversed the ruling that legalized abortion across the United States.

The officer reportedly insisted the passenger must be "outside the body” and gave her a $215 citation.
