I don’t think that’s what it is. why would greg be referring the that in that post? almost like he’s telling them that they are going into the pit.

Maybe it is simply the people he invites that are VIPs so they are sitting in the front of the audience, like a wedding or funeral. The pit - like the orchestra pit right up front.
