The challenge I struggle with is that so many people see the King James version of the Bible as the holy word of God with no chance that it has been tampered with despite the fact that it has largely been under the control of the Catholic church for the last 1800 years or more. We know the Council of Nicea changed parts, excised parts. That stuff is still being done. So, while I believe the Bible should be studied and the wisdom of it taken in and appreciated, I still think we need to use discernment. Satan quotes scripture in the Bible. How happy does it make Satan to use the word of God to deceive people into destructive behavior?
And I remind myself that both of these words--Revelation and Apocalypse--mean essentially the same thing: the unveiling, the bringing to light. In other words, The Great Awakening. :)
KJV had the Vulgate as a starting point for much of it. The Vulgate was in Latin. It was translated from the Greek and Jesus's language--Aramaic--into Latin. Lots of translations went into the KJV. Anybody who has studied another language comes to learn how much "art" goes into translating. It's definitely not an exact science. English as we have it now demonstrates the wide changes a language goes through over a relatively short amount of time.
The Council of Nicea did a lot more than just meddle with the words too.
Right, they didn't straight copy the TR. They used many references, from TR, to other earlier translations of the Bible (eg Coverdale, Tyndale, Wesley, Luther, Geneva, Bishops, etc) to get the most accurate English translation they could do. So if there is Vulgate in the KJV, it could be direct (eg. Latin to English), indirect (eg. Latin to Greek to English, or Latin to German to English) or both direct and indirect. Also, their lexicons of Latin, Greek, and Hebrew words may have some measure of reliance upon Vulgate for word meanings, depending on which was used. A lot of reading I've done this morning focused on dictionaries and word sense of the original MS to see how they derived the English words. Translation is complicated lol... Like ten possible word meanings in Hebrew to a single word in English or several options in English. Definitely makes me appreciate all the hard work that went into the Bible!
I'm most familiar with the reports that the last part of Revelation in the TR comes from the Vulgate, as Erasmus didn't have a Greek manuscript source for that fragment. I'd have to look to see if KJV did a direct translation for that segment by referencing early manuscripts or if they used the TR, which would be an indirect Vulgate reference.
Apparently there are some good books out there that cover the history of Biblical translation processes quite well, but I have a long reading list as it is and this isn't near the top. But I will get around to getting one for reference at some point.
I found that Baptistboard.com has a lot of good threads on the subject, with some helpful pointers amidst the standard internet chaff.
The interpretation here by this scholar (who is VERY interesting and learned, btw) in this clip is that the "spirits like frogs" are Satan's minions who are aliens. But what if the anons are the frogs?
See also: 1:11:05 "...and that could be what the Bible also sees to elude to called 'the Great Lie.'
The video argues that the Great Lie may turn out to be that Satan is deceiving the people of the world to attack Jesus when he returns by painting Jesus as an alien invader. That would certainly make some sense in light of the fact that Podesta and Hillary were pushing for "disclosure" re: aliens and UFOs.
1:11:26: 2nd Thessalonians 2:11: "God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie."
What if the lie is COVID? Lots of possibilities here. I need to go read Revelations again.
Thank you for putting this article up. I had not seen it before. It's actually interesting if you can filter out the Southern Poverty Law Center's fascist propaganda angle.
My offering in return: This is literally my favorite article on the internet. It is a must-read for Pepe fans. You can't read this and not know that God has his hand in all of this.
Thank you for posting this! I appreciate the other article being listed, to call out the psychobabble-disinfo, but I was afraid some newer pepes might inhale some of that bad stuff without having a wholesome option. Again, thanks!
Revelations scares the shit out of me.
I think either, Revelations is playing out or someone is trying to force Revelations to play out.

That’s a major consideration, that the bible has been tampered with.

This is not true. The council of nicea only made changes to the catholic Bible, which is composed from Alexandrian texts. KJV is Syrian texts.

The KJV has zero latin vulgate in it. The main reference used was the Textus Receptus.
TR has patchwork Vulgate in it.

But did any vulgate make it into the KJV? The KJ committee didn't just copy the words of the TR.

This is NOT the actual time mentioned in Revelation...however, it is a type of.
Expand please

Yes, seems like this harkens right back to "Independence Day" and many more.
