Wonder if that has anything to do with our Marines being sent over there repeatedly in the past four years.

Hey buddy! Perhaps you might consider it as "Not Right Now" then. Isn't that what a promise is? Receipt of a gift delayed until later.

Not Right Now:

  1. Addiction - NRN, you must give it up to Me first

  2. Healing - NRN, in the world to come

  3. Patience - NRN, you must learn and grow it through needing it (patience is a fruit of the spirit... Fruit comes after and bc of growth)

  4. Happiness - NRN, you must choose it first

  5. Pain - NRN, suffering conforms you to the image of His Son. It will go away in the world to come when you've reached perfection

  6. Growth - NRN, growth is a process

  7. Things - NRN, seek first the kingdom

  8. Love - God is love. Love God with all your heart, soul, might; serve Him with all your heart and all your soul; walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him. Seek Him will all your heart.

You're entitled to your own feelings, but not your own facts. Rather than reviling, why not be like the Bereans and search the scriptures?

There is no gospel if Jesus is not the Messiah. Jesus can only be Messiah if he fulfills the requirements outlined in the OT. He has not fulfilled them all. So your great hope (and mine) should be that He returns and does so. Faith is trusting that He will and living in light of what is coming. Otherwise, according to Paul, we of all people are most to be pitied for believing a lie.

There's a laundry list of prophecies that any messianic claimant has to fulfill. If Jesus doesn't fulfill them, he's a liar. If any old joker who shows up doing magic tricks can be the Messiah, then there's no reason why you shouldn't be first in line to worship the antichrist. Figure out why you believe what you claim to be true and why it matters.

First of all, I believe Jesus is the Messiah. Secondly, when I say let's play a game, I meant that exactly. If you're setting off into the darkness, you need to top up your lamp with oil. Knowing why you believe what you do is the first step. Conviction is based on information. You're also on GAW. Dig deeper. Isaiah 53 is just the tip of the ice berg, and I doubt it's why you were initially drawn to Jesus. I'm not worried about getting to heaven. Heaven is invading here. I just want to survive to see that lol... Lofty goals.

When I say 'prove it' I just mean present information that supports your truth claim. Proofs, as it were. Evidence. Whether or not a jury (eg. the readers or hearers) find it beyond a reasonable doubt is up to them and the extend God has drawn them. There's always reasonable doubt in a truth claim, but for different people, different levels of evidence suffice for them to accept a truth claim. Check out 1 Peter 3:15. Thanks for engaging. God bless on your journey.

She was doing a good job on her own. Isaiah 53 is a great start. Do you know why?

If you'll notice, I said in the first comment that it was a game - prove it. You don't have to play.

Do you? Not sure why you felt the need to pop into another's conversation, say it's not necessary, and then curse someone out for disagreeing. It's absolutely necessary to justify your beliefs, even if just for yourself. Otherwise, you're just a sheep who knows nothing and is a slave to whatever satisfies your fleshbag.

If you claim to follow Christ, I'd be happier if you matured into a perfect reflection of Him. Me too. To do that, followers need to know why they follow Him, know what He said, and how it applies to them if they intend to obey Him. Don't resent rebuke, learn from it and grow. The rebukes get harder the harder your heart is. Take it for what it's worth. If you're not a follower of Christ, again, this whole conversation doesn't really apply to you and involving yourself is odd.

I've read it many times dear. Did you have a specific point you would like to emphasize? What is it about Isaiah 53 that you think proves (or supports) the claim of Jesus to the Messianic kingship?

1 Peter 3:15 would disagree. You don't have to play this little game, but you do need to obey the word if you are a faithful student of the Master. He defensed all His actions directly from scripture. When a man is fully trained, he will look like his master. Who do you look more like today?

It's almost like that one guy those fundies follow can forgive their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. Go figure.

True that.

Conspiracies abound. You choose who to trust based on your own biases. But if they hate us, who could blame them? Rather like the pot and kettle blackness argument. It's not like we haven't used other ethnicities as cash cows ourselves. Blacks, Native Americans, literally anyone else in the world where we've sent the military to launder money. You're just returning the favor, eh? Cycles of hate are neverending. Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you. Some Jewish guy once said that. It's a shame more people don't listen to him.

Everyone knows that's not true. See, anyone can throw out opinions without solid evidence. If we consider that it is true for a minute, treating regular people hatefully for being genetically related to a specific allegedly evil group is still unjustifiable. If it were justifiable, let's consider what it would look like if the tables were turned. 9/11 was justifiable. Illegal migrant invasion is justifiable. Rape and murder of whites is justifiable. Property theft is justifiable. All because individual Americans did or approved evil things over time, it's open season to get revenge on people unrelated to the events in question that occured in places completely removed in space and time from those being targeted. This is what leftists currently believe and are acting out. Are you a leftist? This is what communists believe and have demonstrated throughout their dastardly history in every country they've taken over and burned to the ground. Are you a communist?

And do the work we're called to do to include as many in the remnant as possible. Nobody is going to be jealous of the trash opinions and ignorant hatred displayed within this thread and across these forums by people taking the Messiah's name in vain and profaning it before His brethren in the flesh.

Now say that about any Jew. Your inability to give the benefit of the doubt to a majority of people you neither know nor understand speaks volumes.
