it's necessary for all browsers to download media to display them.
They use the word download to give you the option to save it.
Otherwise it stays in your browser cache.
But if you look at anything on the internet, it is on your computer, somewhere.

PS I looked. Check your browser settings, mine have a choice to not download without asking.
