Because '80s advertising was such an accurate portrayal of American life?

Advertising has always been about suckering people into buying things, and the driving force in shifts to their strategies has are about more efficiently getting the most money out of the most people.

Maybe lake trips with hot model types wasn't doing that as well as today's ads?

It is a catchy jingle though.

Because their target audience was heterosexuals and they didn't promote obesity and "body acceptance."

It's gotten worse, more blatant, explicit and unGodly for sure, but we were, and have always been attacked by unhealthy advertising. IMO, this ad is far less innocuous than is being realized in this thread.
