Their were no fat people to speak of in that time...
That is not true. I was born in 1951 and I knew "obese" people. I traveled throughout Europe in ''72-'73 for 3 months and I was AMAZED that I only saw one "fat" person in that whole time because the Polish/Slavic community I lived in had many fat people. Believe me I long for those good old days filled with normal people even if they were fat.
I had a graduating class of about 150,none were fat by today standards. A couple kids were a little overweight, but none outright fat like today. older people, some were fat,but not that common. Most people in our area had physical jobs miners, logger farmer....... No such thing as a 44 oz big gulp.
I grew up in the 80s, we had ONE fat kid and everyone made fun of him, he was Fat Teddy. Clearly fat shaming worked, because no one else was fucking fat because we didn’t want to be picked on.
90s I was the fat chubby kid through middle school, 165 in 8th grade. Almost passed out at first 7th grade football game and my coach made fun of me for years which motivated me. In high school I didn't know it was fasting but I fasted all day then went to football practice, only ate 1 meal a day mostly healthy stuff. I stayed 165 all through high school and college. I still occasionally fast or keto diet. Yes fat shaming worked for me.
