I live in East Texas many hours from the border. There were 8 of them on the roof next to me yesterday doing shingle work. I will say they were the quietest roof crew I've ever seen though - they even turned their stereo speakers playing typical Mexican music towards the back yard away from the houses. My WFH office is about 75 feet from where they were working and I didn't hear them until I went outside.
We have our fair share of illegals, but not nearly what South Texas and the I-35 corridor going north through San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. When I lived in the Austin area they were everywhere. Try going to an ER in those areas sometime. You will more than likely have 20-30 illegals in front of you just for Triage.
They are not afraid to work. They have good family bonds. They are usually Catholic.
All good things.
Many of them will steal anything they can get their hands on and “thank god” for the blessings of someone else’s stuff.
They sometimes drink to excess and they will drive or do other criminal shit
They don’t usually get car insurance.
They cheat on their wives.
They reproduce like rabbits and that makes our health care cost go through the roof. (Pun not intended)
They keep everything and store it in the yard.
The cost of a new roof may be slightly less because of seemingly cheap labor but since taxes and insurance are so high to support them and their families it ends up costing much more.
All not so good things IMO
Mexico will forever suck because these are the ones that would protest for change.
I have always maintained that we have lived the last 20 years on a false economy of cheap (no papers) labor.
Had we insisted on living within our means and paying citizens a reasonable wage to do the work, we might not have zero lot line giant McHouses but we would be in better shape financially.
Instead we created a whole underclass of illegal people who have now glutted our schools and hospitals and cost us trillions in care. They will be our undoing.
"Adios America" is a great read by Ann Coulter. Its just a collection of data regarding the disproportionate ammount of crime that happens at the hands of people not born here. Eye opening
