No shit, I started getting this like 6 years ago. It is no fucking joke, this shit is intense. People thought I was crazy and looked at me like, yeah sun burns itch......but this is a whole other itch. Like an internal itch, the only thing that helped was to basically scald my skin in the shower, basically making pain override the itch. I have found out now that if I put aquafor on my skin the day I get burned I can stop from getting it. But I swear, this is the worst thing I have ever had happen to me, even worse than full body poison ivy.
I had symptoms....it was my VITAMIN D LEVEL!!! Ding ding! Other symptoms too.
If you are not on 5000ui of D3 daily do so now. Five weeks then drop to 2000ui daily forever.
"Like a tard." Makes me chuckle every time.
Makes sense too, I get outside alot more now, but back then I was only a couple years into my dev career and I worked literally in a basement for about 10 to 12 hours everyday. It was hell.
Yeah I take vitamin d now, thanks for the tip! Shit is honestly no joke.
Hahaha yep, I tried benadryl and I was eventually able to fall asleep with it. But I woke up a little later once it wore off and was back in hell. I don't wish this on my worst enemy.
Dude I feel you. It was bad when I had it. I thought I was allergic to something in the candle shop we went to on our honeymoon. It wound up being the beginning of hells itch. Hot shower, salve.... nothing works.
It went away after 16hours I was hopped up on Benadryl and Kona Beer to stop it.
I told someone at work about it a few years later and their professor did a whole lecture on it. Its rare but does happen. Unless you have had it, you have no idea how much it sucks.
Love Kona and the Kona brewery btw lol, but yeah it was awful. And you are right, everyone thinks you are crazy because your skin still looks normal. Not glad you had it, but glad someone can relate!
The worst was if you moved the shirt rubbed on the skin just and little then sends you down this spiral of itching, heart palpitations and sweating all over again. Thinking about it even 6 years later makes me go crazy.
Yep and me too!
Look into the homeopathic rhus tox. I am very allergic to poison ivy and that helps if I ever get it. Urticaria urens could also be helpful. It can be used for extreme itching...you don't have to have poison ivy.
