I'm grateful now that I was raised paranoid. I have one family member who sorely disappointed us. I have many friends who I thought had things figured out but still took the first shot. Usually to "protect" an elderly parent, was their reasoning. Most of them have not gotten another or any boosters. I felt like they should have known better. Sigh. Oh well. So far, other than catching "covid" repeatedly, they are ok.
I've heard the travel, job, finishing school and parents excuses why they "just decided to do it". They obviously didn't have strong convictions about it or want to be discomfited.
One of my sisters got it for "social" reasons and convenience while traveling. She also recovered from uterine cancer in 2020, so I am just waiting for the ball to drop. She has not gotten boosted, yet.... hopefully won't.

Although I would say, they would have strong convictions but are not aware of what they are. They simply choose convenience over principle.
What kind of conviction does that show?
