I have quite a bit of paper currency on hand and can attest, there are absolutely none newer than 2017! Talking about green money here, not coins.
Can someone provide the reason for this? I believe I read a commenter on the thread said Trump passed something and could be the reason behind this. I’m very curious as to what all this means. Anyone else noticing this with their money?
The "easy" answer would be that there's just no need to print any more as most US currency is already digital. Now, that still wouldn't make sense just stopping in 2017 all together. They'd still need fresh replacements periodically to replace damaged/highly worn bills.
To me, the easy answer doesn't fit.
It could very well go back to the "rainbow" currency being printed instead, to replace the Fed dollars.
That fits.
Now, we just wait and see I guess, the answer will come.
