They knew that if she didn’t win it would be so much more worst for them. They know the gig is up. Best to take the lumps that are coming instead of cheating and getting even more lumps.

Yeah if they cheat to keep races close in 2022 but lose, they can say justify winning in 2024. And point to 2022 as "proof" that they didn't cheat, because they lost some races.
