"I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role"
That's a prolific verse for the early 80's from a drunken Rock God.
That's a skip down memory lane, I can hear him now.
Music was different back then, the artist not so controlled, not all but in a large part, a celebration of the freeing of body, mind and soul. Rage against the establishment, Rage against the machine.
I'm glad to have grown up then, despite the aches and pains of today.
Those were the words we all loved from Ozzy until the remake of War Pigs with entirely wimped out lyrics. It's like the military industrial complex made a phone call and said hey, we don't like what you said about us Ozzy. Change the lyrics. And he did. Or maybe it was just to steal somebody's credit or something, I don't know. Only the original War Pigs had any balls.
Check out Ozzys new album coming 9/9. Song titles may be of interest.
Interesting.
I was an Ozzy fan back in my teen years (showing my age), was always a fan of "War Pigs"
Lyrics:
Generals gathered in their masses,
Just like witches at black masses,
Evil minds that plot destruction,
Sorcerers of death's construction,
In the fields, the bodies burning,
As the war machine keeps turning,
Death and hatred to mankind,
Poisoning their brainwashed minds,
Oh, Lord, yeah,
[Bridge],
Politicians hide themselves away,
They only started the war,
Why should they go out to fight?,
They leave that all to the poor, yeah,
Time will tell on their power minds,
Making war just for fun,
Treating people just like pawns in chess,
Wait till their judgment day comes, yeah,
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 2],
Now, in darkness, world stops turning,
Ashes where their bodies burning,
No more war pigs have the power,
Hand of God has struck the hour,
Day of Judgment, God is calling,
On their knees, the war pigs crawling,
Begging mercies for their sins,
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings,
Oh, Lord, yeah
[Instrumental Outro: Luke's Wall]
People need to revisit the lyrics to Crazy Train.

Interesting how he was always demonized. ;)
Even more interesting how he has lasted this long.
Im a big Sabbath fan, even of the Dio years and weird offshoots like Tyr.
There's a good channel on YT called "Hail Ozzy" that plays short clips of The Osbournes.
They uploaded this during Omicron last year.

For the younger crowd,
