It has occurred to me that there may be more to this than just the DS perversely wanting us to eat bugs. If you slaughter a single cow, think of how many people it can feed. Now, think about bugs. You would have to kill millions of bugs to feed the same number of people, thus vastly increasing the number of resulting deaths.
They're a death cult. To them, it doesn't matter how large or small a being is. What does matter is the number of deaths. It's an offering to their demon god.
Is not about ending red meat. Is about them dehumanizing us. Think about it. What is a person going to think if they grew up eating bugs. They want us humiliated.

This will be a difficult task. There are too many fools in this world who would actually go along with this.

At this point, there wouldn't be any humiliation in eating bugs, as it will have become normalized. They won't think any more of eating bugs than you do of eating a nice, juicy steak.
Well growing up we got fed lots of bull shit from the communist party. But most people with common sense knew that outside of our ignorant world view there had to be something more. I imagine no matter how much control they try to have. There will always be humans who think there has to be more than the misery we know and are used to. The shock of being able to buy what ever you want, without rations, being able to chose a career if you have the education without having to be a party member. Not worrying about your neighbors snitching on you for not going to the party meetings. Or selling something to another private citizen without the police raiding your home to take what ever you selling.
I had diced and sauteed onions, homegrown green peppers, and crimini mushrooms with diced beef in a sour cream parmesan sauce with jasmine rice. It turned out pretty good.
You killing me with the home grown stuff. In a good way! I plan on starting my own garden and having chickens for eggs, I have the space. Just need to save some money for the build.
Peppers were the only thing I grew. Recipe was all mine, though. ;)

Thanks for the reminder. Gotta get one of our homegrown, home processed, chickens out of the freezer for dinners for the weekend. I think we will probably have some garden grown roasted potatoes to go with our delicious chicken....
I'm practicing my SHTF menu. Made navy beans and ham out of the food storage. Tomorrow will make breads by different methods.
Yesterday we had a roasted chicken breast rubbed with cumin and lemon doused with a little Italian dressing and herbs, with rice, green beans and a salad.
Today I hoofed it down to Whataburger for burgers and fries, and we have large shakes waiting for us to catch up to them.

youir onions are a disaster, way underdone.
I like them sweet. If you over cook them they no longer taste like onions.
