What sort of munitions would have been dropped depends on the missions being undertaken.
But mostly would probably have been a mixture of 500-1000lb Bombs maybe with some incendiaries thrown in. At least the bulk of them. Considering those were most often used on the air raids. Though if it was Bombs of that size were detonating regularly there probably wouldnβt be much of a tree line left. And a far larger Cordon.
As far as I was aware though the bombs are usually detonated and or otherwise rendered inert either by German Police or Military Forces not long after recovery.
Since it is mentioned to be a Police storehouse itβs the source of the blaze. Iβd imagine the bulk of whatβs going off is probably contraband items. Fireworks etc. And seized/stored small arms and ammo. With any WW2 explosives on site making an extremely small portion of the stores.
