I am convinced we are partially in this mess because we didn’t speak up and push back when the stakes were low. So we must combat the lies and “history” that paint the USA in a horrible light exclusively. This isn’t a PR exercise though, we must push out truth in all things, even when we (The USA) were Wrong and evil.
Important to that truth telling though is context.
Ultimately people have been both very evil AND very good throughout history, and most have been a mixed bag. We learn in order to attain wisdom, which hopefully leads to more good than evil.
Here is a wonderful video from Thomas Sowell’s YouTube channel re: slavery and it’s customs around the world. Really eye opening stuff.
This is also a reaction video—these reaction videos have been getting huge numbers of eyeballs, and I think it is a fantastic trend, especially when it’s about spreading knowledge, which includes context of the time.
Thanks for this...will dig in to this. Currently questioning polio, Salk, and how polio rates were declining due to better public services, clean water etc. and questioning germ theory vs terrain theory.
Memory holes article years ago from Rolling Stone re pharma using green macaque kidney cells as the cell line for live vaccine (distributed in Africa) and how the simian immune deficiency virus could have been in those kidney cells.
I'd like to suggest a book: "Moth In the Iron Lung" by Forrest Maready. His research, observations and conclusions are very sound. You can download that book here if you're interested: https://u1lib.org/book/18339531/1e1c48
I actually had heard this too for years and accepted it as true, and kinda clever actually. Wrong...evil...but clever. And I didn’t even think of it again.
A relative was at a national park and the guide dropped this nugget during the tour, and my relative hadn’t ever heard it and was really upset about it. He got the ranger’s name (!) did teasearch about it (this is like 20 years ago) and found that it was an idea floated in a letter, but never had actually been tried (because it was so dangerous for many people—kinda like Covid, right? No way to control it when it gets out...)
Anyway this relative actually wrote the National Parks service and told this story and asked that the ranger be instructed what the research said about this incident, and to stop broadcasting this inaccuracy.
So I am glad you brought it up...because a lot of people (including myself) never questioned it. How much of what we “know” are fabrications or twists of truth that we have been told for years?
I have been so wrong myself, I supported BOTH gulf wars. I am ashamed that I believed it. Turns my stomach. Glad you are on the board. Thank you.
Remember smallpox on those Indian blankets?
smallpox on blankets myth
I am trying to dispel this myth whenever I hear it.
Thank you, was about to do the same.
