I agree, Bass. I LOVED Santa when I was a kid and it didn’t break my heart to find out he wasn’t “real”. When it was time to break the news, my parents explained it as Santa being the spirit of love and giving without looking for recognition. We never “saw” him, didn’t know him, but all year long he and his elves gave of their time and talent to bring a little joy to people around the world each Christmas. It was used as a lesson to give and love selflessly.
Kids were told about Santa since the 4th century. I think bad parenting is more to blame than a fairy tale that teaches them about the spirit of GIVING.
We don't need to do anything but love our children. Fairy tales have been used forever to teach children about complex subjects. Telling people how to teach their children and what to believe in is divisive.
Bad parenting has made generations of ungrateful, spoiled children.
