I see both sides on this one. I'm well-versed in the whole PMRC thing (I have Zappa's testimony saved somewhere etc) and that whole debate. And Tipper Gore really sucked absolutely.
On one hand, yes, these things were improperly vilified, like blaming rock music for suicides and all that nonsense. But on the other hand, it can't be denied that FPS games condition people for, well, first-person-shooting. And we've accepted far too much violence as entertainment. And, it can't be denied that there is TONS of programming in music - certainly today more than ever, see Vigilant Citizen site for example. It's weird now that while they were after some kind of puritanical streak regarding sex etc, they were actually right about the satanic stuff - which was subtle at the time vs now (interesting angle considering above post about TV etc, no?)....
Is it a possibility that FPS games and SSRIs worked well together to achieve a long-term goal of the slaughte4 of innocents and a potential public outcry to outlaw firearms?
I did not know that the US government was intentionally poisoning liquor to assist in the Temperence movement/Prohibiton. (Incidentally creating a sophisticated black market for alcohol and organized crime)
Why is it so hard to believe it could happen again, but this time, with the most important obstacle to a takeover of the US—personal ownership of firearms…
Like I say, I see both sides on this one. I'd even argue that the violence in video games is intentional in the respect of conditioning those who are ready for it/susceptible to it, as opposed to those versed in morality (whether sourced from religion or philosophy).
The same could be said about learning how to shoot in the military, or getting lessons from your pa, or firing BB guns, airsofts, or paintballs.
I think the bottom line is, if you have the right morals, the problem isn't Slayer or Megadeth, the problem isn't Doom or Mortal Kombat, or Freddy and Jason.
I'm sure if I said the problem was that husbands weren't disciplining their wives when they got out of control, OP would be up in arms. (Which I don't believe btw)
But this is exactly what the Cabal wants doesn't it? For everyone to walk in line and blame their scapegoat taught to them by their regularly scheduled programming. I have to admit that I am shocked that after all we've been through these 2 years, to see a stupid comment get so many likes.
This shows you how far off from The Awakening we actually are.
It's like people got their brain numbed by CPAC this weekend and reverted somehow! Sheesh!
Okay, Tipper Gore.

But it doesn't condition you to shoot your family or your school.
That comes from lack of moral respect from both sides of the home.
That, you will find in the Bible, but not in OPs comment.

Gov poisoned alcohol to enforce prohibition
