I wonder though.. according to most belief systems theories that make sense to me, we're kind of trapped here.
This is some form of hell or at least a lower dimension. We're not allowed out until we learn something or mature or ascend or otherwise become worthy of reaching the next dimension or heaven or whatever you want to call a "better" place.
Other theories are stuff like we're used as cattle by the government and/or whoever is REALLY running things. That could range from we're simply work/tax slaves to we're having our emotional energy or some other form of aspect of us eaten by aliens, etc...
So I wonder, if any of those scenarios are true, is it wise to bring more souls into this place? I wonder if it works like that how do souls even get here? Is there a line of them waiting to get in? Can we exhaust that by excessive reproduction? Maybe that's not even the right way to think about it?
If we're livestock it doesn't seem like a great move to bring people IN, it seems like a better move to teach everyone how to get OUT.
I think one or several people through history have done just that, but maybe it's time for someone with more modern influence to take people down that path?
You're making a lot of assumptions. Live a good and moral life with the expectation that there is no afterlife, be good for the sake of being good even when no one is watching and you can get away with it. If there is a god and he is just, he will see you and maybe even reward you for your efforts.
Aside from that, you should also hedge your bets by playing your life a little more meta.
Suppose spirituality is bullshit and you never had kids. What now? You might as well be dead already your branch on the tree of life has wilted.
Children aren't the future, they are your future. Children is how immortality is achieved for our cell line as humans, we are not jellyfish.
