For years I suffered what I thought was a bad gall bladder, so I did not touch anything with "high" cholesterol, had gall bladder attacks when I ate too much fatty meat, etc, poisoned myself with margarine. I followed someone named Hulda Clark and did a gall bladder cleanse, and wowser, the stones, the sludge, etc came out, passed a few that looked like good sized stones. I did this 2x a year, for 3 years, and then started feeling lousy, craved carbs. Slowly I got off gluten, saw an improvement, and then discovered the Atkins diet, which is basically a keto diet, started restricting carbs, began to eat meat, a lot of it, first steak cooked in butter was eaten after t he age of 50, learned about trans fats, began eating all the butter and good fatty meats, (grass raised), etc. No gall bladder issues, lost weight, feel great, at 72, my bad cholesterol went down as soon as I stopped the trans fats. It's been a long journey, but at 72, despite the arthritis from Lyme, I feel better than I did at 40. Go figure. If I fall into eating carbs or sugar, the inflammation and pain in my body increases terribly. Carbs are addictive, as is sugar, it is easier to stay away from them altogether, then to have some occasionally, because the occasional will set off the craving again. Wheat products were never meant for anyone whose people came from northern areas, our ancestors did not thrive on wheat, it did not grow where my people came from, wheat flour, etc, came from the middle east, the Euphrates valley, exported to the Mediterranean. We ate wild rices, game, fish, seaweeds, shellfish, rye, flax, oats, etc. Our bodies and blood type should dictate what is good for us. Yes, we are ominvores, and yes, that is not always a good thing. We can survive on anything, but life and health is more than survival.
Same with potatoes, which are from South America, they were a trash food given to the Irish by the Brits, so the Brits could steal the land and raise their beef for export, they took the land from them, gave them a plot for the potatos and allowed them a pig to raise for the winter. My ancestorrs were always "keto".
