Our outrage over the deeds of the people you mentioned is certainly justified. As for controlling your emotions, there is only one answer. You need God's grace. You need His power to do in you what you don't have the strength to do. Jesus was human while He was on earth, so He knows how hard it is for us, and He gives His grace freely for the asking.
Don't let the devil beat you up with condemnation for failing, either. That never comes from God (Rom. 8:1), so tell him to take a hike, and then go talk to God who loves you and is on your side. Ask for grace so you can obey His will, expecting to get it because all the promises of God are yes and amen to those who are in Christ (2 Peter 2:1-4, 2. Cor. 1:20).
God is with you, He is for you, and you don't have to do any of this stuff on your own. You really can win at everything in Him.
