Does anyone know what year the cars switched to these computerized engines accessible by remote control?
I've been trying to find that info.
It started with the advent of On-Star. Most modern cars have some form of telematics and bi-directional communication. The GNX system is found in cars with highly integrated infotainment systems.
Reverse engineer it: EXPLOIT inside vehicle > BACKDOOR via GNX OS > TAP bidirectional comms via class explot/hack/access > APP exists with vehicle database and exploits based on platform. Now make that an app that connects to the proper database. CIA has it. All that's needed to get it to the DS is a thumbdrive and a laptop and viola, you're in the skyjacking business.
A GPS? No. Cars were shopping with GPS before this advent.
The fact of the matter is that we are already there. Most cars in circulation are partially or entirely controlled by chips.
Cars, at this point, have become more digital technology than analog technology. Your steering, your 4 wheel drive, your airbags, your ability to change lanes can be impeded by "protective" software.
Thanks!
The car has to have telematics to be remote accessed. Fall of 1996 was when On Star first showed up on luxury cars.
Think about it. They can unlock your doors and start or stop your engine, right?
Chrysler started with electronic ignition in 1973. GM & Ford soon followed
Thanks!

Hey, guys I found this 17-page document by the inventors of the BEI GyroChip:
Managing Configuration Control in an Automotive Sensor Mass Customization Manufacturing Product Line
Asad M. Madni, Lynn E. Costlow, and John LaBoskey
BEI Technologies, Inc. 13100 Telfair Avenue, Sylmar, California 91342 U. S. A.
"As BEI Technologies, Inc. transitioned from a low-volume, high-cost aerospace and defense supplier to a high-volume, low-cost automotive supplier for the Systron Donner quartz rate sensor gyroscope (GyroChip®) after the mid-1990s, a need to effectively manage mass customization without replicating the production line became an economic imperative..."

Hillary Clinton was involved back when Bill was still Governor I think. Her specialty in law was patent infringement. She got involved in a chip call the QR11 I think. It was put into just about everything that moved. They could take command of the vehicle with that chip.
Yes, exactly. I have some info I saved a while back on that subject.
Here's what I found: The device was originally designed for commercial aircraft after a spate of hijackings that took place in the 1980s. The chip allowed ground control to remotely take over the plane in a way even the pilots (or hijackers) couldn't override.
Then, they added them to the automobiles.
The sensor, originally named: BEI GYROCHIP Model QRS11, was invented in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
The inventor was represented by The Clinton’s law firm.
Since the 1990’s, these microchips or a version of them have been installed in the navigational system of nearly ALL commercial aircraft, HELICOPTERS and automobiles.
The automobile version, usually referred to as StabiliTRAK, can compare actual vehicle dynamics to the driver's intentions, and then gently apply the ABS and traction-control systems to "nudge" the car back into the expected line.
Sounds great at first glance. But not if the wrong people have access to it...
I remember an article about a journalist who was investigating a big story. He wanted to borrow a neighbor's car because he was afraid they'd kill him for what he knew. The neighbor said no. The journalist went ahead and took his own car and they found him dead, having hit a tree head on.
Any gadget that takes control away from us somewhat scares me.
That's great! Thanks. I was just going from memory from years ago. I think she worked with Ingersoll on the chip. Does that sound right?
