Many new cars also have a push button start and digital shifter... so they could remotely control your car and you would be a helpless victim along for the ride.
Everyone who might be on their "list" should install a shutoff valve on the fuel line and a simple toggle switch next to the steering wheel to activate the shutoff valve. It would be easy to do.
A car isn't going to go 100mph and steer into a bridge abutment or drive through a house... if there isn't any gasoline flow to the engine. At best, the car will coast to a stop.
Pop it to Neutral, turn ignition to off, that don't work Emergency brake?
Having had an accelerator get stuck in my old 89 Bronco I can confirm that the emergency brake does shit when it's fighting against the engine.
Yes. I have driven with the E brake engaged. My first thought was the car was a little sleepy, probably coming down with something. I don't know, I'm not a mechanic. Anyways, I found out when the smell hit me. Brake fluid. Distinctive. Prestone's finest DOT 3. I disengaged it and said sorry to the other drivers on the road. I like to think that they forgave me for that.
I nearly accidentally offed myself once when an errant can of WD40 rolled from under my seat and got lodged behind the brake pedal. Thankfully I managed to get it out with no harm done.
