This place has been taken over by (seemingly) competing spam posters. Yesterday I counted some 91 posts by one contributor. Today its the same: long stream of posts by the same people that make my eyes glaze over.
All I want to do is read my messages and go do something else. Thinking maybe others feel the same and that a limit should be set to how many posts can be made in a day?

Ive been thinking the same for almost a month. Lots of new names Ive never seen, posting all kinds of stuff and then want to argue, cuss out, tell you your an idiot etc… You can always get your point across without doing any of those things. I feel like when you do that you cant think of a legit argument. It is getting exhausting to the point Im not looking as much either.
Yup, the big score seems to be the main incentive. Would be unkind to begin to fathom other possible reasons.
I’ve felt like that for a while but it seems worse. Be wary of the suicide stuff and prayer requests with long posts. Not dismissing any of that but be wary. It’s hard to know if they’re true or not but I think sometimes it is a ploy to break us down and try to make us feel despondent. Even some prayer requests- so and so’s mother’s best friend’s dog.. come on. It seems like sometimes we focus on the bad and it seems shills are dredging up a lot of old or questionable material that will surely make us depressed if we allow it. Don’t. Step back, trust your instincts and your BS meter.
I never dismiss suicides, with vets it’s over 22 a DAY. But that is different from when people say “hey good GAW members.. have you been feeling suicidal lately?” Shiz like that. Just realize some may actually be an attempt to demoralize or send some people on a downward spiral.
On a lighter note- it’s another beautiful, God given, fresh new day and the birds are pretty noisy outside. Things are gonna be ok.
I would rather pray for somebody who says they’re suicidal, or because they have a family member that sick, that have to read the regurgitation of MSM talking points all day every day. To me that’s more demoralizing. That’s why I try not to go to the Donald anymore. Just misery misery misery. I don’t count human suffering as misery per se, because that is part of life, but knowing that you can come here and request a prayer - and then I can pray for that person, always lifts me up. The best part is hearing the praise reports afterwards, or if somebody does go to be with the Lord, you know that you will see them again in the future. Also being somebody who has been suicidal most of my life, and finally coming to a place where I have peace joy and love in my life, I think is a good uplifting comment. We can overcome those emotions and feelings, with Christ in our hearts. It’s been a long road, but I am so grateful for the life that I have now, even during the most difficult times for all of us. Just my two cents
I agree, I never go to the Donald anymore for the same reasons. And this is a good place, the reason I keep coming back is because it’s more than just inspiring and full of truth. People genuinely care about each other. I’ve been suicidal in my life, especially after the marine corps. It was a very dark time and I try to help anyone but especially friends I know who were in my unit or those news friends I made as a civilian and this is just another place that if I see someone who seems heartbroken or suffering, I try to help and certainly pray hard for them. I’m just saying- be wary of shills who may be trying to demoralize us or cause us to question our own mental health status by dooming or catastrophizing. It sometimes seems like it could be false. I’ve seen posts that people say “anyone else suicidal?” and things like that and it is very hard to see what is real, what is genuine and what is shill or demoralizing/triggering behavior because I think they’ve reached a new level of darkness or are trying more sophisticated ways to hurt us. That’s what I was trying to say. I’d never minimize anyone’s pain but we need to be careful and look at things like their post history.
Example- one member I recently encountered said something verbally abusive and unnecessary to someone else. It wasn’t just a downvote, it was a mean and cold. But then I looked at their history and I see all these “I’m praying for you, god bless you” “and similar and out of character, inconsistent. And not members very long at all. So then you wonder, shill? Probably. I’m just saying it’s important to be careful not to get sucked into something that could hurt you- be discerning. Check histories and be wary because it seems like it’s increasing and they’re not able use the same tricks they used to.
I agree with everything you just said. I do know that there’s a whole bunch of dooming going on, and they do want to demoralized us. A lot of the times I just call people out on it. I finally reached a place in my life, where I don’t allow others to affect my mental health.
If I see a straight out doom post, I just say something like… OK chicken little. Sometimes people will continue to post MSM talking points about crime, and I think that’s very demoralizing. We don’t need to rehash people being beat to death, stabbed, shot, ran over by cars, or burnt to death. Some people just can’t get enough of that misery, and I called those posts out as well. I know news is important, but when it’s excessive and it holds no value, I just call it out.
Thanks for looking out friend, I’ll be looking out for you too. Not everybody can have a thick skin, and not be affected by other people’s comments. If somebody is very verbally abusive I just block them. No skin off my back.

I've only used block a few times. Mostly on shills, I only just recently blocked one of the spammers, and only because they started pushing a bunch of retarded new age BS, so it was the last straw. If they post something really important it'll just have to get stickied, otherwise I won't see it. I'm sure other people will also post the important info anyway.
As a last resort: some posts are of interest, most are stale rehashed ones that just clog up the board.
Yesterday I watched [Lawless](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawless_(film) which I really enjoyed. It happened during the Prohibition and whenever Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman or Guy Pearce are on screen, we are in awe. Screenplay and music was created by Nick Cave (the Bad Seeds). I highly recommend this movie.
On workdays evenings, we watch the series « Poldark » which a Fren recommended me. I actually enjoy it a lot, especially the historical economics aspects of it. I found the whole series in DVD for a stipend on eBay.
