Sounds fair to me. "Being a racist" is not the same as "being a pedophile", because in the first case the sin is a thought, and in the second, it is a sin that calls for a millstone around the neck. Being a racist is a slippery slope. How do you prove it? Is the person attending KKK rallies in full sheet attire? How are they manifesting their racism? Because this is so difficult to nail down, generally, its really easy to call someone a racist. You can't prove a negative. It just hangs in the air. But to prove someone is a pedophile, you can gather evidence from phones, social media, from the victim and any witnesses, and by seizing computers, etc. I guess if someone IS a racist, you could gather evidence, but there have been 500 billion accusations of someone being a racist, and maybe you turn up a few. I'm not supporting racism, in case you are wondering. I'm saying it is WAY too much called upon to vilify the other. It has become a control mechanism. That's all. And, by the way, there is much talk these days about people wanting to exclude some others from their lives. May I point out that thousands of years of human history points to the fact that people like to be with people they feel comfortable with. This can mean people who speak the same language, who are the same religion, who have the same culture and values and also, who look like us. Very few people seek out completely different kinds of people to hang with. If you're in your twenties or thirties, are you looking for friends in their sixties and seventies? I think not. They are "other". Yes, we may have outliers for friends, but looking for simpatico friends approximates the family, and most of us feel comfortable in the presence of our families. Oh, not you, though. You have that toxic mother!!!!
