What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
Has anyone else gone prematurely gray/white headed? I've had gray hair since high school and I have kept it colored for years and have vowed to, as long as it holds color. I hate that my hair is almost solid white in the front. (Inherited it from my mom/her dad's Irish side.) I'm getting tired of fighting it anymore. My face doesn't look its age, but younger, so it would be such an odd look to have white hair but a face with little amount of wrinkles or even fine lines. (I do have my dad's sagging jowls!)
I'm not typically a vain person, but I don't like that I can't enjoy what I've inherited. I'm jealous of long, beautiful hair. I have to keep it short and colored; I think I do, anyway.
I didn't know this was "premature" - I'm 51 and my Vietnamese lady friend (there is a certain Asian honesty) saw a picture from a few years back and said "you're hair is a lot lighter now" LOL
Now an ex-friend (long story) was getting some salt in the pepper in his 30s and started dying his hair - it was just obvious looking and SOOOO stupid. And it's not just that he did "Just for Men" or whatever (actually I think he's vain enough to have a salon do it) - I went to book signing by Geddy Lee and as much as he pays you can tell it's colored. Silly. (Of course, don't get me started on why you'd get so many classic basses, then run them through a bunch of effects shit, but anyway....)
I like that. Maybe I should give it a shot. :) My grandma used to do a really cute braid on her hair, and I have wanted to do mine like that for years. I may try something totally different.
My personal take - and this is a hard hump to get over - is people generally look better if they just are natural or mostly so (like a little makeup or whatever is fine, it seems the gals can't live without it, though if no-one did it everything would be relative again). I wouldn't worry about it, it probably looks unique and interesting if nothing else.
Now any giant warts, definitely pay the quarter for those, but other than that....
Agreed. I know a beautiful girl with golden blond hair who dyed it black: now she looks ugly and hard. My daughter dyed hers black and immediately went back to her natural colour after I said "Ah, you've gone for the Anne Widdecombe look". Ann W is an overweight, elderly, doughty battleaxe UK politician, now retired :)
Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!! I don't wear make-up often.
I feel for you, your hair probably looks better than you think. Molasses and biotin are meant to help with grey hair (in moderation, can have laxative effects), but not sure if it can return white hair back to its original colour. Worth a try.
I literally was like "how the hell does putting molasses in your hair have a laxative effect - oh"
I love molasses. Perhaps I should try!
I have a spoonful of unsulphured after indulging in something calorific, good way to fast track a naughty indulgence :)
Haha! I would have to do the same! ;)
