My wife headed out of town so I was on kid duty.
Had to take my youngest to her gymnastics class.
Was standing there watching her like the proud papa I am when another one of the dads noticed my shirt and started up a conversation with me.
Turns out he’s a California refugee who managed to escape.
For 45 minutes he told me about his awakening experience… without any prompting.
I’ve been at this for well over a decade now, folks, and this NEVER happens. NEVER.
People now want the red pills, and we’re here to distribute them. Congratulations, y’all, on making it this far. There are effectual battles to be won, for sure, but we are winning the war!
We are looking to move and retire to TN but eastern side. Any thoughts?
Plenty. Of course it depends on what you're looking for. Never move TO any city, the cities everywhere will be chaotic in coming months. But look for red counties to move to. West Knox County is red, and the deeper west you go, the more affluent the neighborhoods get.... and peaceful and quiet. I know that neighboring counties have good quality of life, such as Blount Co., Loudon Co., Sevier Co., and Anderson Co. A small-ish city nearby is Oak Ridge, TN, the "secret city" that helped build the A-bomb in WWII, but is now a small southern town that is quite livable. If you're looking for large wooded acreage, that is also still available in east Tennessee; but the cost will be inversely proportional to the proximity of a large urban areas. The closer you choose to a city (Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City) the greater the price of land.... and the further away, will be less expensive. I have relatives living some distance from Kingston TN, but up on a mountain with a gravel road, where they have a very nice log cabin that is fairly remote, and they love it there.
Good luck. If you get serious about moving here, at least in the Knox County area, I know two VERY good real estate agents who can help you.
Thank you we are seriously checking it out this February or March. I was originally looking into Florida but my husband doesn't want to do that. Someone mentioned Tennessee is very cheap to retire to and I've never been there and don't know much and I could use any bit of help to give me of areas that are cheaper to live I don't want to be by a city but I want to be close enough to get to the things that I need any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Sounds like the outer edges of Knox County is just what you're looking for. Quiet neighborhoods, we have all the amenities one could hope for. All the national food and home goods outlets -- Kroger, Publix, Food City, Home Depot, Lowe's, pizza chains and some very nice specialty restaurants. Chinese, Thai, Italian and home cooked blue-plate-special kinds of restaurants. We have a decent symphony orchestra and the Univ. of Tennessee has an excellent theater department that puts on all manner of theatrical productions.
The Knoxville area also has some of the best medical practitioners in the country; people from all around the region (eastern Kentucky, North Carolina, and across the state) come here for medical treatments. From Google:
Does Knoxville have good medical care? The US Census Bureau estimates there are 407 physicians for every 100,000 residents in the Knoxville, Tennessee area – twice the national average of 261 physicians per 100,000 people.
Utilities cost less here because of the TVA, and gas prices regularly run less than the national average.
And we have frequent gun shows that are always well attended. Tennessee has not state income tax and never will. Tennessee also became a Constitutional Carry state recently. Nearly everyone I know carries, and I like it that way.
I have traveled widely in Europe and the UK, and when I was in the USMC I got to see a lot of the world I might not have seen otherwise, mostly Central and South America. But east Tennessee is my home and I would never live anywhere else.
I would ask only one thing if you all move here. Don't ever vote for any Democrat in any future election. Thanks.
If you would like me to put you in touch with the real estate folks I mentioned, PM me directly.
Also, Tennessee has the best Moonshine on planet earth. Got a buddy whose brother lives just past Sevierville. He makes a Jalapeño shine. Shockingly good. Knoxville area is outstanding. Oak Ridge is stellar.
I used to live in Jonesborough, and you're right...anywhere outside the major cities of East Tn are great. I was close enough to Knoxville to be there in an hour and a half, Johnson City in 15 minutes. We vacation a lot in the Pigeon Forge area now and have grown to love it as well.
I don't know how to PM but yes I need to start looking at my options. Thanks.
