The difference is that your interpretation did not EXIST until 1600 years after Christ walked the earth incarnated.
Clearly, there is a need for a teaching authority, so that the Church doesn’t degenerate into 50,000 denominations squabbling at the gates of hell.
You deny the One, Holy,Catholic, and Apostolic Church, and choose to squabble.
