Putin flipped at some point, it was in there all the time.

If you were born in the late 1940's - 1970's you will understand why we hated the Communist led Soviet Union (not "Russia" which long pre-dated the Soviet Union). Things like the Cold War, Cuban missle crisis, Vietnam war, and evidence of general Soviet Communist infiltration into the US -- riots, academia --among other things come to mind.
If you were born later than that and were never much of student of history it is possible that you have no knowledege of he significance of Reagan's poliy of Peace throguh Strengh and the bankrupting of the USSR which freed eastern European Soviet satellites and the nation of Russia itself.
I happen to be half Russian by heritage. My grandfather came over to the US and worked as a carpenter. He was also an informant working with US authorities in the post-WWI/post-Soviet Communist Revolution era, to ferret out possible Communist elements burrowing into the Russian ex-pat community.
There is distinction between Russians and Soviet Communists to be appreciated even as there is a distinction to be made between the CCP and the oppressed Chinese people. I know that Putin knows the difference too and has had a long held aversion to what was the Soviet mind-set, and he is a promoter - rightly - of long - standing Russian identity and tradtition. I also believe Trump and he are working together at this moment to topple the Soros/WEF/Global reset factions.
Yes. And I have read that in 2010, Putin made Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's "The GULag Archipelago" mandatory reading in Russian high schools. Hardly the act of a man who pines for the good old Soviet Union.
Many Russians, including Putin, have also read Solzhenitsyn’s book “200 Years Together”. This is a history book of the period from 1795 to 1995 that discusses the Jewish community in Russia. It opens up fully the truth that MOST of the leaders of the 1917 Revolution were Jews as well as the leaders of the government that formed soon after the Revolution. Most Americans have never heard of this book and you can guess as to why. There has been no open publishing of this book in English, only grassroots Samizdat type publishing. It has been highly suppressed.
And most of the leaders of the Mafia were Italian. Most of the leaders of the Fascist Party were Italian. What do we then conclude about Italians?
There is a personality type called the "self-hating Jew" who rejects and loathes his origins in a spiritual ethnic group. In their rejection, they seek a better secular world, and get sucked into Marxism. No surprise they found their way into the Bolsheviks. What do we then conclude about Jews?
Who were the subject of Tsarist pogroms? The Jews. One can find no more dedicated opponent of Communism and tyranny than Ayn Rand. She was a Jew.
Go bother someone else with your never-fully-stated syllogism.
What a fascinating, first hand connection you had to the cold war -- history as it unfolded. Almost a front row seat I would think.
