Does my visa debit card count as a credit card so they can track my purchases when buying firearms?
Dude … use cash.
Cash is tracked too but it’s safer.
Cash is tracked??? Uhhhh … how do they track cash?
Caveat- I have not researched that, BUT - If I were you I would assume so because it is electronically traceable and that is the whole point.
It's ALL tracked.
It's all been tracked for a LONG time. It didn't just begin today...
That recent news admitting to tracking was like leaking the ruling that overturns RvW. They're just getting ahead of the full announcement of the social credit system.
Yes, it is a category code used by the Visa processing network.
Just use cash, it drives them nuts.
.....I mean you have to fill out a 4473 anyway right.....unless it is a private sale....but most people doing private sales take cash only....sooooo
EEEEEVERYTHING "NOT CASH" is TRACKED DIGITALLY as "receipts" with a tax ID .....leave it to the IRS...just saying
It counts enough that businesses get charged extra for accepting debit cards, just the same as for credit cards. A number of businesses in my area charge extra if you use any kind of plastic instead of cash.
By tracking ammo and accessories the ATF will be able to identify by type and quantity of ammo where the guns purchased on the secondary market and guns gifted to individuals ended up at.
If you shoot with any kind of regularity, they will have their back door universal quasi registration / accounting for door to door confiscation. They will know what you have and how often you shoot.
This of course will create a gray / black shadow market for ammo at a premium price.
